Pedone’s Pizza has been a neighborhood favorite for over 45 years, winning multiple accolades including best pizza, wings, and Italian restaurant year after year. Their pizza dough and marinara are made fresh every day with proprietary traditions from New York, and dine-in, pick-up, and delivery are available at both locations. Some of their employees have been with Pedone’s for 10 to 15 years, which is a big reason the in-house recipes taste so consistent.

Fresh Brothers

Because of its aim to provide fresh, tasty, yet healthy alternatives, the Los Angeles-based fast casual company actually appeals to everyone. For example, their commissary makes fresh dough every day and delivers it to each restaurant overnight. Wings, bits, and tenders are never fried, and even the wedge cut fries are baked. The company exclusively utilizes all-natural pepperoni, which means there are no nitrates, artificial additives, or processing. Redwood Pie

Redwood Pie is a tiny takeout shop on Pier Avenue serving New York style sourdough pizza with a well-charred, chewy crust, ready in about 10 minutes. Locals put it on our list this year, and The Infatuation gave it high marks in a 2025 review. Try the Jersey Tomato Pie, with sauce layered over the cheese, or the D-Fresh, topped with pickled serrano peppers. There is a little sidewalk seating, but most people grab a pie and go.
