Redondo Ballet’s annual production of “The Snow Queen” offers a captivating twist on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale, unfolding each winter. Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in a world of enchantment as the performance breathes life into the fanciful journey of Rudie and Pearl.
As the malevolent Snow Queen freezes summer and steals Pearl away, Rudie’s quest to find his friend takes a fantastical turn. Encounters with cowboys, mermaids, pirates, and the allure of poisoned apples bring the imaginative retelling to life through captivating choreography, elaborate sets, and stunning costumes.
Will Rudie’s odyssey lead to the reunion of lifelong friends, or is it merely a dream woven by the Snow Queen’s icy magic?
