Village Runner Independence Day 5K Run & Firecracker Dash
Join Village Runner in Redondo Beach at 8:00am for the 30th Annual 4th of July 5K and Firecracker Dash! Each participant will get a t-shirt for the Fourth of July race. The top three overall male and female runners in the 5K race will each get cash prizes in addition to age division honors, chip timing, and cash prizes. The winners of the Kids Dash also get medals!

Packet Pickup and Late Registration:
Monday, July 3rd: Noon to 6pm at the Village Runner in Redondo Beach
Tuesday, July 4th (race morning): 6:30am on Catalina Ave. near Palos Verdes Blvd.
Please note our newer location in the Riviera Village located just doors away from Trader Joe’s.
Race Schedule:
The 5K Run/Walk begins at 8:00am on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
The Firecracker Dash for the Gold heats are separated by age groups and start approximately at the times listed below.
9:30am Ages 8-9, Distance: 1/4 Mile
9:40am Ages 6-7, Distance: 1/4 Mile
9:45am Ages 4-5, Distance: “Dash”

We will be having a Costume Contest at the stage in the Coffee Cartel parking lot from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Please enter with your patriotic best for a chance to win the following prizes:
- 1st Place – $100 gift certificate to the Village Runner
- 2nd Place – $75 gift certificate to the Village Runner
- 3rd Place – $50 gift certificate to the Village Runner

Celebrate and give back to our local students. The Village Runner Independence Day 5K directly benefits the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation and other local schools and running programs. A portion of YOUR registration fee from this race goes to these deserving groups each year.
