Community Spotlight: The Nicol Real Estate Group
Welcome to this weeks Community Spotlight! This week we are getting to know The Nicol Real Estate Group, a family friendly realtor that is helping local families find their perfect family home.
This is a sponsored post, but we are selective on the companies we work with to ensure they align with our community.
We wanted to learn more about The Nicol Real Estate Group, so we asked them some questions and here’s what they had to say…
Tell us about Nicol Real Estate Group
“The Nicol Real Estate Group is made up of top tier individuals sharing a common goal and business culture of providing professional, honest, and exceptional real estate services to clients throughout Los Angeles.”
“It’s simple, we see real estate differently. Our clients needs and goals come before our own. We do not measure our success on commissions and sales, but instead by the positive experience we provide for our clients and their families.”
What inspired you to launch this business?
“We formed the Nicol Real Estate Group in 2016 and are now a team of five top tier South Bay agents serving the community with commons goals. We launched our group because we wanted to bring a different perspective and approach to real estate service.”
“I was born and raised in the South Bay of Los Angeles. I graduated from El Segundo High School then went on to get my bachelors degree from UCLA in Sociology. The South Bay is near and dear to my heart and El Segundo is where my family and I call home. I have worked in the Real Estate industry since 2006.”
What is one of your proudest moments?
“The typical answer would be something like, the time I closed escrow on a 3 million dollar deal in record time but that’s not it. My proudest moment is one that caught me a little off guard. I had helped my client get into a small condo through a multiple offer situation. Guided her through the inspections and loan hurdles as I normally do. On closing day when we met for me to hand her the keys to her new home she began to cry. I knew becoming a home owner was a goal of hers but what I had underestimated was that she has resolved herself to the fact that it was never going to happen. As she wept and gave me a hug she said, ‘you helped me achieve my dream and made me feel so important even though I’m sure this was a small deal for you.’ The tears were those of joy and as I drove home that day I realized what I had accomplished was simple. I had placed my clients goals first and worked hard to help her achieve her goal. I cared for what she cared about and that meant the world to her. Relationships are the key to any great business and I consider myself lucky to have this relationship.”
What can one expect when working with you?
“We are a people first business. No paperwork or contracts. Face to face conversation about your goals and directives. We believe in a solid relationship focused on our client goals. “The Right Fit” is something we are always looking for and teaching our clients on what to expect and appreciate in a real estate transaction is something we believe is key to success. Trust is the foundation of a great relationship so we look for the common goal from the word go. If we are not “The Right Fit” for a client we can see it and we help that client find someone that will give them what they need.”
Tell us a little about you, the owner:
“I am lucky enough to say the South Bay has been my home since birth. Many migrate to Los Angeles and specifically the South Bay and I get to say I know no other home. I am married to an amazing, beautiful, supportive wife, Kimberley. I am father to two awesome children, Scotty (6) and Sullivan (4.) 10 years ago I became interested in civic leadership and policy making. In April of 2018, I was Elected to City Council in El Segundo, our home town. Family helps me balance work, kids, and civic passion.”
What do you enjoy doing in the South Bay when you are not working?
“When I’m not working… that is the key phrase. I am a bit of a work-a-holic, always finding a way to mix in a bit of work each day. But when I have time off, it’s typically spent doing hobbies with my kids. I take my son golfing or bike riding and love playing at the park with my daughter. Co-Ed sports with friends is a great outlet for us.”
How do you you give back to the community?
“The key to any business is their willingness to give back to the community that gives to them. I’ve been a member of the El Segundo Kiwanis club for 15 years, a past president and current board member. We raise money for the children of El Segundo and beyond. We have sat on boards for the El Segundo Ed Foundation and volunteer for everything under the sun.”
Thank you for giving us a little peek into your business.
