Events & Activities in the South Bay This Month
South Bay Rocks Music Competition at The Point
September 20
Get ready to rock out at South Bay Rocks! This exciting music competition will highlight local youth talent in one amazing rock show. Come out and show your support for the top 12 youth performers as they take the stage and compete in front of Hollywood music industry judges for a chance to win a professional recording session at Republic Records.
Long Beach Greek Festival
August 30 – September 1
Eat, drink, dance, and be merry at the annual celebration of all things Greek. From authentic Greek food and music, to shopping and more you’ll be immersed in everything incredible this ancient culture has to offer.
Movies At the Beach
September 6 and 13
Movies at the Beach returns to Hermosa Beach for two Saturdays in September. Enjoy free sunset films on the sand, just south of the Hermosa Beach Pier. On September 6, enjoy the family favorite Lilo & Stitch, followed by the hit musical Mamma Mia! on September 13. The event begins at 7 p.m., with movies starting at sundown around 7:45 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, low-back beach chairs, and plenty of friends for a cozy night under the stars.
Hermosa Beach Concert Series
September 7 and 14
The Hermosa Beach Concert Series is returning in 2025 to reboot the City’s 25-year tradition of free concerts on the beach. The Series will take place south of the Pier on the two Sundays following Labor Day weekend: September 7 and September 14. Shows begin at 3 PM.
Blessings For Your Soles 2nd Annual Gala
September 13
Blessings for Your Soles, a local nonprofit dedicated to delivering socks and footwear to vulnerable populations is hosting its biggest fundraiser of the year, the 2nd Annual Gala, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Torrance. Guests will enjoy a plated meal, drinks, and a limited bar, along with a silent auction, opportunity drawing baskets, and a 50/50 drawing. The event also features photo opportunities, goodie bags, and the chance to connect with fellow supporters while raising funds toward the organization’s $30,000 goal.
Moompetam American Indian Festival
September 13 – 14
Aquarium of the Pacific celebrates its twenty-first annual Moompetam American Indian Festival. The event features traditional cultural craft demonstrations, storytelling, music, and dance all celebrating indigenous California maritime cultures, including Tongva, Chumash, Acjachemen, Costanoan, Luiseño, and Kumeyaay.
Baja Splash Cultural Festival
September 20 – 21
The Aquarium of the Pacific is hosting the twenty-fourth annual Baja Splash Cultural Festival in celebration of cultures from México, Central and South America, and beyond. You’ll enjoy traditional dance performances, live music, and more.
2025 El Segundo Main Street Fair
September 20
Join in the fun at the 2025 El Segundo Main Street Fair hosted by the El Segundo Kiwanis Club. Bring your family and friends to the South Bay on Saturday Sept. 20th for a fun filled day of music, food and crafts by local vendors, games and rides for kids, a rockin’ beer garden, and much more!
15th Annual Food, Wine and Brew Festival
September 27
Come out and enjoy a sunny day at the Gardena City Hall Lawn. During the festival you can check out local foods, wine, beer, and retail vendors throughout the day, as well as enjoy live music performances. Ticket proceeds assist in raising funds for the Gardena Senior Citizens Bureau and the Alzheimer’s Support Program. All attendees will receive a wine glass to keep.
Locale 90254 Oktoberfest
September 27
Get a taste of Germany in Hermosa Beach! This annual event features traditional German and Bavarian cuisines, live music, and plenty of family-friendly activities at the Carnival, including rides, games, face painting, and more. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite dirndls and lederhosen for a day filled with fun and festivities!
Family Fun Day at Lomita Railroad Museum

Join in the festivities at the Lomita Railroad Museum for their Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 27, from 11 a.m-4 p.m. You’ll enjoy a variety of vendors, crafts, kids games, entertainment, and food.
