Victor E Benstead Plunge
Located on the corner of Madrona Avenue and Torrance Boulevard, the Victor E. Benstead Plunge has been serving the community since 1956. It’s an Olympic-size outdoor aquatic center that offers swimming lessons, as well as recreational hours. Commonly referred to as “The Plunge,” it features a heated pool that’s 50 x 20 meters, divided into two courses: a 25-yard and a 26-meter course. The friendly swimming pool, which is heated year-round to about 80Ā° to 81Ā°, is open year-round as well. The operational hours for recreational swimming are subject to change.

The charming mini-train rides are now a delightful highlight of Wilson Park. Riders on public run days ride free, but donations are always appreciated! Public run days for this delightful ride fall on the 1st Sunday and 3rd Saturday of every month. All funds raised go towards the SCLS’ maintenance costs, fuelling, insurance, and facility upgrades. Members of SCLS are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for their efforts on club projects or operations. Please note that Public Run Days may be pre-empted by special events.
