Manhattan Beach’s Juneteenth Celebration and Ceremony
In partnership with Black in Mayberry, the City of Manhattan Beach invites you to celebrate and honor Juneteenth with two very special events starting with a ceremony at Bruce’s Beach.

Juneteenth Ceremony at Bruce’s Beach
The celebration will begin on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at Bruce’s Beach. The event will honor African-American history with speakers from the community, special guests, and a performance by a gospel choir. The community is invited to attend from 10am to 11am.
Juneteenth Celebration and Concert
On Saturday June 22 the event continues with the Juneteenth Celebration and Concert at Polliwog Park. This family-friendly event runs from 11am to 3pm and features live music, delicious food, and vendors. You can reserve your free admission here.
More Performances and Celebration
The Manhattan Beach Public Library will be hosting special performances by Ina the Sunshine Storyteller and Chazz Ross. The library will also be inaugurating the Bruce’s Beach Collaborative Collection with a discussion by local historian Dr. Anthony Lee about the collection and the significance of Juneteenth. This family-friendly event will also take place on June 22, from 3pm to 5pm.
