Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk: Supporting Kids, Schools, and Community in Manhattan Beach
The Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk is one of the South Bay’s most beloved annual events, bringing together thousands of families, students, and community members for a meaningful walk along the beach. Every October, participants gather at the Manhattan Beach Pier and walk to the Hermosa Beach Pier and back, covering 3.4 miles of beautiful coastal views all in support of children with special needs, public education, and college scholarships.

Walk for Friendship, Education, and Community
Since its founding in 2009, the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk has raised millions of dollars, making a lasting impact on local schools and youth programs across the South Bay and beyond.
Why This Walk Matters
The Friendship Foundation supports children and young adults with special needs through peer mentoring and recreational activities, including sports, music, art, and summer camps. Local education foundations across the South Bay also benefit, funding classroom programs, technology, and extracurriculars that shape student success. Every step taken helps strengthen the community and create brighter futures for children.
Family-Friendly Fun
The Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk isn’t just about the walk—it’s a full day of fun. Families can enjoy the Kid Zone, live entertainment, hydration stations, and plenty of dining options nearby. Friendly leashed dogs are welcome to join, making it the perfect family-and pet-friendly day out.
