What you need:

White cardstock paper, whole puncher, 2 pipe cleaners, tape, 2 stick-on googly eyes, crayons or markers.

How to make a hug:

Step 1: Cut out a heart from white cardstock paper.

Step 2: Punch 2 holes on the side of the heart and 2 holes near the bottom.

Step 3: Color the heart with markers or crayons and add a smile.

Step 4: Use one pipe cleaner and pull it through the holes for arms. Use the second pipe cleaner and pull in through the holes for legs. Use a piece of tape on the back of your heart to make sure the pipe cleaners stay in place.

Step 5: Add googly eyes to your hug.

Adrien Murphy loves teaching 2nd grade at WISH Charter Community School! Mrs. Murphy earned her BA degree and teaching credential from California State University Northridge. She decided to become a teacher because watching her mom teach inspired her to want to make a difference and help kids believe in themselves.  She adores teaching kindness and mindfulness in her classroom and social skills during her after school Kindness Club.  Her dream is to inspire kindness in the world and to help schools and communities start Kindness Clubs.
